Advantages:
Reduce section size and save steel structure;
It can be connected into various states of parts, and can be welded immediately when connected. Normally, there is no need for additional overlapping parts, making the parts simple and time-saving in production;
Good connection sealing and high stiffness;
Easy to operate automatically and with high productivity.
Disadvantages:
The material in the heat affected zone near welding is slightly brittle;
The existence of welding residual stress and deformation has adverse effects on the construction of the structure;
Especially at low temperatures, due to the problem of cracks, if cracks appear inside, they can quickly expand to the entire cross-section, especially at low temperatures where fracture is prone to occur.
